DIY or Call Us?

There’s a safe middle ground here. A homeowner can check the access panel for visible cracks, confirm the model number on the carrier frame, and verify whether the bowl rocks by pressing on opposite corners. What you should not do: tighten carrier bolts without knowing the torque spec (over-tightening strips the threaded inserts), or replace a flange without confirming the pipe material and diameter. PVC, ABS, cast iron, and lead each require different connection methods, and a solvent weld on cast iron will fail catastrophically.
